Hi Guys, - I've done a search but not found a clear answer.

recently picked up a 1991 miami blue gti 1.6. - about 137,000 on the clock

badly needed an oil change, so i have a 'mann oil filter', a new copper sump plug washer, will use some engine flush to clear out 20 years of gloop, but what oil would you recomend i use to get it purring right again?

next on the list will be the spark plugs and HT leads - distributer cap too maybe. what spark plugs am i best going with? as some people have said they had problems with some bosche items etc.

cheers guys.

also i have no idea of when the last cam belt change was, but it feels alright, think i should pencil that job in for some time soon?

I'd just chuck in semi-synth 10/40 and change it regularly. Best to change the timing belt (it's a job that's on my list to do on my new one) if the history isn't known.
