Any one watched any of this series ,all those strange yank cars. Some with great planks of wood all over them, don't know if you need a mechanic or a carpenter !

Fair few of my clients pop up on this. Excellent insight into the US collector market IMO.

I do enjoy watching this sometimes. Made me laugh when he said the economy doesn't effect the classic car industry. Then a programme or so later on he could hardly sell any and got less on other's too

Actually when economic markets are in a down-turn traditionally the price of top end classics goes up. Guys with money seek sanctuary (almost) in the classic car market. Truly exquisite and rare examples have proven safe bets in the past.

Absolutely.

Signs of a very slight downturn are around in some pockets of the industry but the last 2-3 years have been amazingly bouyant. We handle approximately £500 million of top-end classic and historic cars so are ideally placed to observe what's going on at the moment.

There are a number of bona fide investment funds happening at the moment - McLaren F1's in particular have been moving around a lot (not surprising really when they're heading towards £3m for a road car and double that for a race car with history). Watch the Veyron too - they slipped but are starting to head back towards £1m and may keep going.
