Dash Lights Come On With Ignition

I have a '93 205 STDT and was just wondering if this is right that the dash lights come on with just the ignition no sidelights turned on just igniton on. It only happened yesterday after i changed a couple of bulbs in the binical and the heater controls it didnt do it before. Also my interior light wont switch on but it works when the door is opened cant work that one out?? and when you get out of the car and shut the door it stays on until you lock the door is this correct??

thats good that its seems normal just a bit strange how it wasnt doing it before and is now any ideas on why the iterior light isnt working though?? as i said it works when you open the door but not when trying to switch it on

Had a proper look at this the other day changed the rheostat as i though it wasnt right the dash lights coming on with the ignition and not when you turn the lights on and this fixed the problem, i think i must have blown it up when i was pushing it back in think it must have touched the steering column and shorted it out.
