Cylinder Head Number On Inlet Port

Recommended Posts

speno

Hello what does this number represent please?

Only i bought this pug 205 gti with this engine in ,the shell was a lemon how ever the engine ran pretty nice.. i know the guy i got the car off said it had another engine put in it , but he did not know what car it came from ..( engine has no numbers on it what so ever also it had a BE4 gearbox on it)

The 1.9 engine i removed to replaced with this engine has a number 8 stamped on the inlet port

Also where can i get a gasket for the thermostat/dizzy housing ?

thanks Spencer

That's just a random casting number, they all have them, nowt special i'm afraid!

Peugeot or a motor factors for the gasket.

Just use RTV sealant on the thermostat housing to cylinder head seal - that's how the later engines were as standard.
