One Of The Most Stunning 205 Gti's I Have Seen

Recommended Posts

marksorrento205

Its not my car or am I part of selling it. I have been sent the link and thought it was something worth sharing with others! It goes to show the quality of Tony and Craig's work at Gti Distinction Alloys! I saw the car in the flesh when I recently collected three sets of wheels from them and its better than the pics show IMO!

Very nice although I would budget for a rear beam rebuild after it has been sitting for 6 years.

How did they manage to remap the original ECU to work with the TT conversion or was it not remapped and just altered the ignition and added a 5th injector?

Is there any info/article on the TT conversions?

There is lots of info on the TT conversion over on the PSCUK site in the members download section :)

The absence of the rear wiper makes me wonder if it has been resprayed

I would agree, and is it me or does the front wing look like a pattern part given the fit??

Things that are unoriginal: lack of wiper, black trim, incorrect wing mirrors.

Still a great looking car, i'd really like a go in a TT, never had the pleasure.

does the tt plague meant to have the numbers all squint like that, plate looks dodgy.

It isn't exactly original as pointed out, but damn it's nice! Weirdly Rootes was where my Ph1 was reg'd too, 34k and almost 25yrs ago!

The graphite minty example one Wheeler Dealers was Tony's and him & Craig always seem to have a mint 205 about, so no doubt it'll be a good 'un! :)

How interesting, this car is very local to me...!? Who are the sellers then? A wheel refurbing company, or individuals?

I think the wing is right, but the bumper definitely isn't sat straight on that side.

I Can't Read The Bloody Advert Because Every Word is Capitalised And It Makes It Very Unclear and Totally Does My Head In.

Seriously - why would anyone do that?

Car looks OK, though :)

So if they are clued up on 205s, it's a bit dishonest to claim that it's such an original example when they must clearly know it's not from the very obvious things that have been pointed out from a handful of pictures.

And yeah, the capitalisation, WTF?

But other than that, it does look bloody nice (and just goes to show how much nicer Topaz looks with black trim rather than grey).

EDIT: Is it it Topaz? I thought so when I looked at it on my phone last night, but now on my laptop it looks silver, but with a very slight bluey tinge to it

EDIT 2: Nah, that is Silver, innit?

I'm leaning more towards silver, but I thought the original 205 colour didn't have that much flake in the paint. I don't think topaz came on phase 1's.

If you look on pic 7 you can see the original protection has gone on the leading edge of the door shut, it should have a thicker rubberised strip of sealant/protection from stone chips below the body kit.

A definate respray IMHO.

Not a problem to me, but then not original, that matters to some.

I don't think that's the metallic flake you can see, but rather the graininess of the image (probably took it around ISO 400). Pretty sure Topaz was a Ph1 colour (or limited to a certain period within that time).

Topaz was only sold for around a year across '89/90, G/H reg.

Many early CTis were topaz

IIRC that isn't actually Topaz, it is very similar though, called 'Haze'. :)

Never ever seen a topaz Gti that wasn't a g or h plate - the Cti colour mentioned as topaz is much more silvery than blue when parked together they look totally different

The 205 in question could be any colour if its had a respray - might not even be a pug silver at the end of the day?

I bought my 205 off these guys, their wheels are stunning however my car sadly had been tarted up for sale as a lot of work was needed to get it to where it was claimed to be in the advert.

This does look nice though.
