My old user name and Miami 1.9 :(

If you open that photo up, you'll see a Citroen Visa van in the background. It had an Mi16 in it! :D

Got loads of old pics somewhere from Drivers and EVO forum meets. Will stick them up.

Is that a Ph1 that was at some point purple with the trim painted gold and had 17" Seneka wheels?

I think it is a ph1 B-C reg iirc, i think it was later re-shelled due to rot, i know it was painted a few times but unsure on the purple.

I'm sure that it was the same one that was featured in Revs or Redline with that colour scheme. And it was a B or C reg. The name Darren rings a bell too. Mi16?

My first 205, a phase 1 1.6 which went like the clappers and was an absolute joy to drive. We caged it and used it for road rallies:

PG1.jpg

Sadly a mixture of age and neglect turned it into this:

PG2.jpg

And after sitting in a wet garage for a few years it became this:

PG3.jpg

So I bought a 309 which promptly caught fire whilst being towed home:

PG4.jpg

I tried the 309 thing again with this one purchased from a mate of mine. This was a bloody quick car for an 8v:

PG5.jpg

Put it back closer to standard as I hated looking at the thing:

PG6.jpg

And promptly drove it into a wall. Check out the roofline/A pillar shape!

PG7.jpg

Bought this on a whim from an RAF officer for £300. I thought the advert was a misprint:

PG8.jpg

It didn't age well though for some reason, got camber?! I still own this car, 7 years later, in bits....

PG9.jpg

A mate owned this, possibly the slowest 1.9 I have ever been in. I nearly rear ended it in a 1.6 because it was so hesitant. New fuel pump helped but never fully cured it. It was just slow:

Finally I can't not post up my mate Lyn's old 205 "Miami"

This thing was the biggest pile of cack you could ever hope to drive. It had been on it's side at least once before he owned it. It used to spit flames but the brake pedal was like pressing a block of wood, utterly devoid of feel. And it only started when it was in a good mood.

SHED!

Reckon it was repsrayed as it has an earlier style spoiler and you can just make out the phase 1 dash in picture 2.

My old car, this was the day of a South Meet either 2004/5

Glorious sunshine day before, polished car and then it snowed, no snow when I got to South Meet

OldCar.jpg

Those were my standard days, a standard 1.9. I was corrupted by south meets and the lure of Mi16 power (SteveC Mi16 on carbs) and now I have a butchered 205 GTi-6 pretending to be a track toy.

Proud to have driven over 100k miles in various 205s and only car to ever push the adrenalin levels to the max

Never suffered any depreciation, free glorious motoring and one of the best looking cars ever

A D reg Miami?

No, hence "Miami" in inverted commas. It was graphite grey originally, someone resprayed it in a Ford colour they had laying around to make it look like it was Miami Blue.

Just a quick thread resurrection!

Finding old pictures of your car, like I've done this evening.

Like this - (tihkn I might have used this one before)

My old 205GTI with my best friends 309GTI - note petrol price.

DSC00206.jpg

DSC01874.jpg

My old car and my brothers old 172 - circa 2004.

mycar.jpg

My old car - still in 8v form, not lowered, original lights and dangerous tyres, freshly back from Le Mans - 2003.

Forementioned 309GTI

This car was post-university days - quick by previous cars standards; this was my friends from 1996 - 2004.

It was dismantled at this spot shortly after the photo was taken. I think Anthony got the bones and shafts and the wheels still live in my loft along with a few other bits, rack etc...

A shame as it provided us with a lot of good memories, and some heart stopping moments!
