Booked In For Painting

Recommended Posts

ALEX

Finally I have it booked in on the 19th Dec.

The Garage said they will be painting over christmas and I should have it back in the new year.

The target day for it finishing has to be before March 2013, as I plan on going to my wedding in it.

Anyone one know how these things go together?

I'll start a project thread with pics when i get round to it, but work is hectic at the moment so updates and replys might be sparse.

Any reason you've still got the headlights fitted? Seems silly as the rest of it is stripped bare!

From having done, and being involved in at least 8 cars having full restoration paint jobs, you'd be lucky to see it back within 4 months. This time of year is the worst for getting a 'classic' resprayed. The problem is that there are more people sliding off the road and smaller jobs are always coming in. I always tried to get my cars painted in the summer as that is usually a more 'slack' time in a bodyshop. Quickest I got one back was 4 weeks. Also depends on how many hours of prep are required on you car and how eager the bodyshop is to get it finished for you.
