Anyone Else Find It Hard To Sell A Good 205?

Recommended Posts

Richie

These bloody things do get under your skin don't they.

I've had 205's for the past 8-9 years and I get a bit sad when it comes to selling up. I know to some people cars are just cars and don't think twice about selling up, but I find i end up bonding with 205's in a weird way. Especially a good one. The thing is when you sell a decent 205, you know that you're going to end up wanting another before you've handed the keys over.

I mean, lets face it, although i'm biased they are the best looking hot hatch IMO. Arh, i've typed my advert up but i have no idea if i've got it in me to submit it.

Must be a curse.

I'm on of those people that is never 100% happy with anything. I have an idea in my head of what I want something to be like, and it is never ever good enough or exactly what I was 'expecting'. The 205 is one of very few cars I can say I like the look of from every angle. They got it spot on in my mind.

The thing I find with cars I own then sell, is that I worry I will never have one again that will be as reliable etc. You could sell yours, and then come back to the fold down the line, but will it be the 'same'?

Why is it that you want to sell? Often you need to tell yourself why it is you are making a decision.

You are right.

I felt I "betrayed" my old car by selling it twice.

I ended up buying another one but it would have been cheaper to keep the old one instead.

There are always things to do in any car to bring it to a state one is happy with so if you are happy with yours and unless you need the money, find somewhere to store it and stash it in.

The reason I sold it in both times was that I did not need a second car (due to moving abroad) and leaving it unused outdoors would do it more harm than good.

After being stationary for almost 6 months the first time round the lacquer on the roof faded and the car had a lot of starting problems (it wasn't only the battery that caused this).
