Vacuum Box

does the sunroof vacuum box have to be pressurized before fitting pipe back on or does the engine do this

 

like blowing into the box and quickly attaching the pipe

The engine created a vacuum in the box when its running. The vacuum is used the contract the seal to open the roof. The box is needed so you can open the roof when the engine is not running. So in essence no, just connect the box. You will not be able to open the roof until you have ran the engine and generated vacuum.

ok its just i put new seal on and pumps up better than ever,nice snug fit but has trouble in deflating and kinda stays half full(or empty) of air and wondered why its doing this?
