If they are bigger over all it will help economy surely?

 

Those 18's would look good if they where say 14/15". 18" is just Barry style haha

Oh and the difference in tyre price is hardly worth considering, you may even get better wear from the bigger tyre?

Took the dog to Dunkery Beacon on Saturday and grabbed a couple photos. Definitely needs lowering, how much lower are GTi springs please and would I have to change the shocks?

 

I would probalby need to stiffen it first which is front/rear arb and rear torsion bars? I'd love rear discs so might as well get a whole beam I guess (and then be wider and it even more arch trouble)...

 

Hopefully do a few jobs on him later, and so far the fuel economy looks a bit better so I'll let you know after the next 25 litres...
