Distributor - Coil Pack Conversion

Bit of a random one, is it possible to convert my 1.9 gti to run a coil pack instead of the distributor? And if so what would it take?

Not without changing to aftermarket management or something like Motronic 3.1

 

You can't just add an additional wire and run the existing setup, particularly not given that on all non-CAT GTi's the dizzy provides the timing signal.

Ahh right thanks for the info, ill just treat my dizzy then! Are there any particular brands to go for with dizzy cap, rotor arm and leads?
