Started Misfiring

Recommended Posts

erbs

started up the old pug today and it was running fine, it revved as it usually does then for no reason it started to misfire and then just stall

i tried to start it and when it did start it just ran as though is was only running on a couple of cylinders and the engine was bouncing around in the bay when running

all suggestions welcome

been reading around so the best place to start would be the ignition amp and replace that 1st

well i put my multimeter on the pump to make sure it was working and it was, checked spark, all ok then i had a brainwave,

undone pipe to manifold to check how much fuel was coming out, when turned over it just dribbled out so got the new fuel filter which i was intended to replace anyway and took the old Halfords one

off and put new one on,filled up filter with fresh fuel and hey presto fired into life and left it running for 10 mins and all ok.

think it was a partial then it just blocked up so i guess by looking at the old fuel filter which had there old halfords logo on it suggests it was very old.

now runs sweet, just got to lean off as its a bit rich after cleaning out all the breathers
