Renault 5 Gt Turbo

Recommended Posts

danpass15

Picked up a r5 turbo through a mate really cheap the other day. Has not mot or tax but should not be much work to get it through. Plan is to get the work done and stick it on fleabay, however I have really took a liking to it! I am really please as the engine runs sweet as a nut, better than my tappy gti6 engine haha.

heres some pics

Nice i havn't seen many in blue.

If I wasn't a 205 lover i'd probably look at 5's. Think white with the standard decals looks very smart. Maybe grey.

Isn't this whole "renault 5 gt turbos all blow up" mainly just rubbish because it's mostly due to people upping the boost rather than the standard car.

wow ross009 that one looks well nice!

Yeah the only thing I don't like about the one I have picked up is the front bumper but looking on ebay they are not cheap to get hold of!

This one has just had a reconed turbo put on and is running at standard boost so shouldnt have any engine problems, plus it has uprated inter cooler etc. Anyway I will only be driving to and from the MOT station then it will be up for sale!

They are nice, there's a couple of standard ones dotting around locally including a red one which looks a cracking little car

I used to have a grey one, complete and standard.

It had low miles and was MINT.

I swapped it for an AX GT 500 back in 1999.

Oops

Do they come with rear camber as standard ? The black one looks like it has some.

echoing bertman, get it as close as you can to standard and you should see some good money from it. I had a red one with hybrid turbo etc around 10 years ago. Cracking little car but the HG went after 5 days :-(.

I'd have another one if it was standard though!

Never really interested me, not too keen on the looks. Also a mate had one with no end of issues!

But on the other hand i would have thought it would get good money in standard unmolested form :)

Not sure how long you have lived in Bridgwater, but there was a chap who had a few Raiders. If it wasn't for seeing those and how well they went, I would probably be in the large crowd of 'haters'.

I did realise quite quickly that they spend more time off the road than on if fettled.

ha will let you know when its up for sale, Im not going to bother putting a standard bumper on it as I dont think it will make me any extra cash so would leave that up to the buyer :)
