Oil Pump Question

on my 1.9 i plan to take the sump off and clean the sump and oil pump.

 

does the oil pump have a o ring or seal where its bolted to the engine?

 

also are they easy to remove from the chain driving the pump?

no seal, just a metal to metal joint, pretty easy to wiggle out from the chain, there's an L shaped thin steel spacer between the pump and the block, slid this out and it'll be a little easier.

Not always, these were (apparently) removed & the pump height increased from early 1987 but I've seen a decent mix of later engine s both with & without the spacer so if its not there don't be overly concerned.
