Yes, that's the plugs for the head unit, there appears to be a plug wrong in your car loom though...

The wires in your hands are the cig lighter and clock plugs.

There should be a red plug hanging about.

As for the stereo plug it needs to be a Sony specific one. Quite pricey from halfords

Thank you very much for clarifying that, i'm sure there was no other plugs around so assumed these were the wires, think they've been chopped then :( will have another look tomorrow!

Engine noise is awesome Harry :)

Don't bother buying adapter plugs or looms from Halfords, you can get exactly the same thing for 1/4 of the price on ebay :)

If you can't find the red plug in your car try sticking your hand right down the back of the stereo hole, the plug might be trapped at the back, pinched in the edge of the gearbox tunnel trim. I had the same problem recently.

p.s. I bought my harness from Halfords about 3 months ago and IIRC it was about £13. The only advantage is you can see it before you buy it and they usually let you take it out to the car park to check if it fits. Well they did for me anyway. HTH

Thanks for the tip mate! I have a halfords trading card, although ebay always seems to still be cheaper haha.

You need 2 looms to get it to fit correctly. First off you need the Sony loom which fits the back of the headunit and will have an iso socket on the other end. This is the expensive one, about £30 in halfords if I remember right! Then you need the lead to convert the red plug in the car to and iso plug to connect to the Sony lead. Hope this makes sense, if I were you I'd buy them from eBay. But your local halfords will explain what you need when you take the unit in with you.

Halfords trade will get you nothing off the lead. That's for parts department only not ripspeed (audio)

Last time I bought the Sony lead it was £35 :o

This is quite right I forgot about the second lead as I got mine boxed with my new headunit. If you've just bought the headunit new it should come with one. It's a bit of a job trying to get all the extra cable back into the headunit hole. I cable tied mine in a neat loop so I could push the headunit all the way in it.

Or you could do what I did and use bullet male and female crimp connectors... It's behind a stereo and inside a column... No one will see it!! Just got to work out what leads are for what speakers in the car and on the unit...
