Any One Bought An Air In Temp Sensor

Recommended Posts

Just asking If anyone has had any dealing with these, thinking of sticking on in to see how cold the air is going in to the throttle housing, or are they another thing that don't work

My car runs one as standard on the MP3.1 system & iirc so does the 306 GTI-6 with it mounted into the tb & many other new engine management systems.

I don't know if you could use them to read the inlet air temp, you'd need to know the sensor resistance tables to calculate it.

Would be nice to no if my intercooler and pipes set up is doing its Job well enough, and if by moving pipes I can make it all work more efficiently, and it's another gauge ????

I did exactly the same with a little battery operated sensor from Maplin. It was not that effective as the measurement cycle was a bit short on it.

As you can see, something like this has a sample rate of 10 seconds, which is not quick enough

I wonder if something like this would do?

(However call it something else and people will pay a fortune more!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280779338796 )
