Braided Hose

When I built my 309 I used rally designs for my brake lines, it runs a bias pedal box so has no compensators and has one line to the rear with a t-piece above the beam. All the bits were £90.

I used torques for my fuel line, I used -8 feed and -6 return with bulkhead fittings then push on adaptors under the bonnet to convert back to rubber hose. I will eventually modify my fuel rail to take jic fittings but i must admit it's a bit ott. Anyways all that lot came to around £140 with the forum discount but then there was an inline filter on top of that aswell.

I'm dead happy with it now it's all in, it's probably a bit over the top but it won't need doing again and it looks the bollocks (yes I'm a tart).

I'm liking the rally design info... They use TNT to send stuff out and therefore I can normally get a reasonable discount from them :)

Only reason I chose to pay the extra few quid for my bits is due to having swivel ends and clear coated lines. Iirc the rally design stuff isn't dot approved whereas proper swaged ends I have on the lines I had made up are, and the swivel ends are a godsend for fitting!

I just used my original 1.9 compensator before the t-piece so there's no need to buy a bias box or valve which isn't really necessary on a road car.

+1 for swivel fittings! It's a right PITA having to spin the caliper round while you fit the lines!

I'll definitely be going for coated hose too next time, the steel braid is very abrasive so unless you have it really well clipped down it's going to scratch the paint.

I've never looked at the price of coated hose, but normal heat shrink does a good job at not much cost.
