Off the top of my head I can't tell you exactly what's been done, but I have invoices and stuff from Nismo/Forge for a huge amount of money. We don't normally sell 'modded' cars, but this one is ace!

All I can tell you is that it's faster than a 997 Turbo S - that makes it very quick.

Speaking from the heart, I could not cope with it daily, a real pig to drive. Clunky, auto box feels disengaged till you rev it, but as soon as you rev it you are doing 40000000 mph. To say its loud is an understatement. As a test we made a E63 AMG and a Maserati Granturismo become silent without revving it.

But by George it's fast!

Oh, it's an 08/58 - registered in Yokohama. All the switches and gauges are still in Jap. Makes it interesting...

From what I can remember of the comparrissons when they first hit the market, they're quicker than a 997 Turbo as standard. Interesting about it being a bugger to drive. I bet it's one of those cases that they've modified it for power but actually just undone all the excellent work by Nissan, and made it less brilliant as a road car.

The most recent factory version is quite a bit quicker than the first ones and still nice to drive.

have you driven a standard one?

They're very capable sure, but i just don't like them, I got into one having just been in a 997 GT3RS, it was like getting in a Little Tikes car, plastic fantastic.

The early ones were very average as a daily car. Clunky gearbox etc. The newer one is actually very nice to drive and much much quicker.

^This. They really are a nasty place to sit. Colleague had one for a while, saw sense and swapped back into a 911.

Oh and Baz it was 'just' a GT3 not an RS ^_^

It's still one of the first cars I'd probably buy if my 6 numbers came up. I'd also have a 'Vette, so I guess plasticky interiors don't put me off  Incidentally, over on the 166 subforum on Alfa Owners, all they ever go on about is "the 166 is is such a special place to sit, the interior is great, blah blah blah, better than other cars in it's class because of the interior". I don't think it's all that, and I'd much rather have a car with decent ride quality and fun that's fun to drive, but they'd all dismiss such a car as being devoid of character

No diss respect to you HLP, but I hate Alfa Interiors. I used to sell them and I could never fall for them...

Looks very nice mate, I assume it's a JDM model? What are you retailing it for if you don't mind me asking?

Cheers,

looks nice in white. my father in law has a black one 09 plate also tuned by rb motorsport, used as a daily drive and finds no issues with its clunkyness. just for reference the car is running the forge hard pipe intake kit, full miltek exhaust inc y pipe kit and 80mm down pipes, two large fuel pumps 700cc injectors, turbosmart dumpvalves and remapped on the cob units available, car runs approx same power, poss around 700bhp, so maybe similar spec. And also think its a little unfair to pitch it against porsches in terms of monetry value, especially gt3s lol they are nearly twice the price of a gtr so should be "better" ha

It's 40 grand

Tonester, that spec seems very much like the spec of this one, right down to all the forge stuff.

Quite impressive that they can be gain 200 bhp with bolt ons and a map. Seems the engines are just as robust as the RB26 and 2JZ if not more so?

I remember when they were released Nissan were making claims that they effectively could'nt be modified....

Doesnt seem that one lasted long!:lol:

for the money, these cars are absolutely incredible. i can understand about the interior, it is jap afterall lol! yeah seems power is still relatively easy to gain with just bolt on mods. the car is still super reliable too, and has just come back from a track day at oulton park were it gets used ha

I thought i remembered clambering in over a climbing frame but i stand corrected!

Even so, that said, a decent GT3, even if a 996 could be had for the GTR budget, leaving change. That'd be my choice!!

Don't get me wrong, fantastic VFM new sure, i just can't stand them , they're everything i hate, dumpy, ugly, plastic japcrap.

I'm the only person I know who doesn't like the look of them. Somehow the proportions look all wrong, it's very bloaty looking. I'd take an R32 or an R34 given the choice. I don't think I could ever justify to myself spending that kind of money on a new car, knowing how much more you can get for your money 2nd hand.
