Hi everyone. I am after some 205 knowledge. I have been offered a 1.9 205 gti 92 J plate has Gti 6 brakes green stuff pads and braided hoses, has been lowered and apparently cammed (what ever that means) is a great runner bodywork in good condition, although it is missing the thin colour trim from the middle of the thicker trim.

 

It was originally a 1.6 GTI but has had the engine changed for a 1.9 along with the wheels and badging, but the paperwork is still registered as a 1.6! He is looking for around a grand for it. Do you guys think this is a good price!!

Depends on the actual condition of it.

 

I've seen 205's good on the outside, rotten underneath.

 

It will be a ph2. People do say they tend to suffer rot more than earlier ones.

 

Get underneath and have a nosey. Lift the rear seats up, look in the boot and behind the tail light area. The inner arches are a common place for them to go. Headlight panels also.

 

The red trim is still available from Peugeot and is cheap enough.

 

Mileage/tax/test?

Yes mate do u know it! I can't get to view it as I am away at the mo! He is buying a MX bike from a mate of mine who mentioned it, but he's not that into cars so wouldn't know what he was looking at. He has got him to email some pics and it looks sweet enough!

yea seen it a few times, i think a lad on here looks after it for him. hes got a yellow rallye and called tandoh on here. ive not seen it up close but looks pretty good for a grand.

Check the sills underneath, under the arches, any bent chassis rails or domed strut tops etc. Haggle low then meet somewhere in the middle if its a good enough shell

Hes so tall and i think it was a frog eyed sprite he was sat in once, it looked like he was in Noodys car. Brewers got fat like his mouth!

Neilt, I'm selling my GTI6 powered one if you're after a fast one? If you do decide to buy the white one, at least you have a relative 205 specialist (James Day) on your doorstep. I used to live in Templecombe a few years back and have donated far too much money to James' holiday fund in return for work on my 205's!

is this the 205 thats on ebay and ends in a day? its on £510 the last time i looked, it looks tidy but pics can make a car looks so much better than it really is, have you been round and had a look at the 205?

He doesn't wear jumpers under his T shirt's, he wears long sleeved T shirt's under them, they are handy in stopping the arms from getting dirty.
