Hello everyone,

My car is 1987 Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI (standard) .

My problems appear before a month, and from then I change almost everything and I still can found out what going on with my car.

It's starts fine and after some running it's dies. And after that it starts and dies until I leave her for a couple of hours. The thing is she doesn't do that all the time, sometimes it dies after 10 min of work, and sometimes you can drive her all day and she is fine.

I change a lot of thing and still cant find the problem.

I have changed Ignition , Coil , ECU , SAD , Fuel Pump , Fuel Regulator , Spark Plugs , Spark Cables , Relays .... and I can't remember what else.

PLEASE PEOPLE HELP ME,I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHERE TO LOOK ANYMORE.

When you say "dies" what happens? Just cut out suddenly with no warning? Lose power, splutter and fail to restart?

When it's "dead" does it have a spark? Does the fuel pump run?

Is it a 128hp XU9JA 1.9 GTi with Jetronic LE-2 management like UK cars that you got in Macedonia?

I'd also suggest the fuel pump relay, you can open it up & look at the solder to see if one has dried out & causes it to fail when it gets hot.

It's a 130 bhp XU9JAZ Motronic,

First it chokes and then dies, after that starts and dies,it doesnt react on trottle,BUT if I spray START SPRAY into air filter then it's running when I stop spraying it dies again.

Yes Fuel Pump is running,it has spark.

Fuel pump relay changed.

I would try a new AFM then, check if the flap is not seized, then check the resistance as you move the flap.

Have you tried a replacement AFM? They're the same as 1.9 Mi16 on Motronic cars.

Certainly given that it's sounds like a fuelling issue this would be a good starting point

was it tested? simply swapping parts of this age now only leads to fruitless chasing and time wasting.

you dont mention the ecu temperature sender?

I guarantee that it will fail again at the most inopportune moment, just after lulling you into a false sense of security...

Well that's the main problem, the car is fine and I didn't find anything wrong.

Now I'm going to drive the car untile something goes wrong and then I can say that I found the problem and finally fixed. ;)
