Draining Oil From Cooler When Doing A Change.

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on the best way to drain the oil from a oil cooler when changing the rest of the oil?

Currently its strapped to the front of the car behind the bumper and don't really fancy stripping the car down each time to drain it.

Surely it will just leak out when you take the filter off as the holes for it are in the sandwich plate? I forget if the pipes enter it on top or under the cooler tho?

I wouldn't bother personally, the cooler holds such a small volume of oil anyway it's not really worth the hassle and potential leaking after putting it all back together.
