I have got 4 mph more at 4000 rpm

Sorry but this isn't possible from spark plug leads, mph per rpm is governed by the gear ratios and final drive ratio.

classic dodgy French instruments, nothing whatsoever to do with the overpriced ignition leads you have fitted.

basic principles of mechanical parts.

regardless how fast you drive at 4k rpm, its going to be the same speed on the road if you strap the same engine and gearbox to any car, 1 engine rotation is not going to be giving more wheel roation due to a set of spark leads you dull .... never mind. maybe post this thread on piston heads...

I think changing parts often has some psychological effect where things seem "quicker". It may run smoother but technically cannot go faster for the same RPM as has been mentioned previously. I also thought that spark plugs had an optimum gap and increasing the gap wouldn't necessarily equate to a stronger spark

I am runing my 205 1.9 with a 0.86mm gap.I have started from 0.8 and went to 0.9 found that was the best on the co2 & the hc.I may of thought the super claim of how good they are I may be able to go bigger on the gap

most plugs these days should not be adjusted, they are not designed to take it and you risk breaking off the tang if you do.

If you want to see even more mph at 4000rpm then try fitting these spark plugs... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GREDDY-IRIDIUM-TUNE-SPARK-PLUG-ISO-07-13000077-4pcs-SET-/110698412605?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19c623ba3d#ht_3594wt_1185

They are a bit pricey but you should see at least another 4mph at 4000rpm, maybe more! *

* N.B. This may, or may not, be true.
