Crashed Ferrari Table

I suppose for some it's better than seeing the cube disappear on the back of a lorry afterwards. Any guesses what it was?

It probably was an old Toyota MR2!! I saw one of the 355 replicas yesterday in Sheffield

Could have been worse, could have been the 406coupe replica they do...

I thought it was an accident damaged car in which case the person would not have survived hence the comment

I was going to say that it's probably just a red Vauxhall Corsa (or similar piece of crap) with a Ferarri badge plonked on the top, but you guys beat me to it with the MR2 and 406 suggestions.

Assuming the table owner also owned and crashed the car I can't quite decide if that's a nice thing to do or depressing, but am leaning towards the former.

When I was 19 I somehow managed to buy and insure a 4 year old Renault 11 Turbo in white (it was late 91 or early 92 and the car was 1988 on an E plate; it was one owner, relatively high miles with fsh, but cost me just £2k! Same engine as the 5 GT Turbo and not a lot slower). Looking back I probably didn't have it for long but I totally loved that car and had already decided it would be a keeper.

I rolled into town one evening with the Alpine blaring out (as you did in those days), not speeding, and a dozey woman turned into me and sent me into a traffic light pole writing the car off.

I claimed on her insurance, and the wreck was left in my possession for me to deal with. Could I have made it into a table so that I'd always have the car as I promised myself?

OK, having written it down, it probably would have been very depressing :)

PS If anyone wonders, I eventually tracked down another R11T, and that too got written off, this time by a boy racer overtaking and coming round the corner on the wrong side of the road. Cue another third party insurance claim. That one was a total dog and I wasn't sad to see it go, but I gave up driving at that point as it made me a nervous wreck :( Didn't get back onto the road until I bought the GTi in 2002!
