2.0 Xantia Turbo Conversion

ive put the engine out of a xantia 2.0 8v turbo in my 205 gti ive done all the mounts but what i need help with is the gears as the slectors hits the turbo how can i get round this?

Extend the part of the linkage that hits it, i think i had to extend mine 40mm works fine and its a sort of home made quick shift kit too
