Another Fuel Gauge Not Working

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

as above the fuel gauge is not working on my car, its an XU9j4/Rs, with jenveys and emerald K6, and after four years to building it

finally runs and has been mapped upto a 6k limit, we need to put some miles on it before we can map it to 8K.

So a lot of the original wiring has been binned, we have a complete new custom loom for the engine, and a seperate relay and fuse box for the ECU which

now controls the fuel pump and slimline fans etc.

The wiring to the fuel sender is as per the factory, we have stripped out the tachy relay and associated wiring, did the

sender work through this??

I have checked with a multimeter (after cleaning the termnals) and there is no + feed at the sender,

any ideas on what to do or check next, and i am no wiring expert.

cheers

I found my problem. i checked the gauge by shorting out at the sender with no success, next i found the wires behind the fuse board

and checked them for continuity, again all fine, so i decided to bite the bullet and remove the dash and clocks, as soon as i released the clocks

i could see that the yellow plug behind the fuel gauge had 4 out of 7 wire broken off, next problem is how to fix these????

cheers

Mark

solder them back on?

or open up the plug and crimp on new terminals.
