Phase 2 Central Locking

Recommended Posts

dino20vt

As i've never owned a phase two and the Haynes manual only covers a phase 1.5, I have a few questions regarding the factory fitted central locking.

Are the actuators the same part number for both sides?

Are they both switches and motors ie can you lock and unlock from both locks barrels unlike a phase 1.5 where the drivers side is just a switch that tells the passengers side and boot to lock or unlock and the passenger side just operates the near side lock pin.

Are the phase 2 actuators on any other PSA cars.

I ask as i'm about to fit a Toad alarm to a phase 1.5 but don't want to add an extra motor to the drivers door.

Just the drivers door is the master barrel. All other locks just operate that door/lock.

So it's just like a phase 1.5 setup but has a motor in the drivers door and has remote locking?

the phase 2 has a black drivers motor with 3 pins; the third being a feed from the PLIP system which the later models had for remote central locking

Can a phase 2 drivers actuator be retrofitted?

Where does the control box under the steering wheel come into the equation, is it just a relay between the IR dome and the doors?
