Can Non-Gti Light Stalks Work On Gti's/high Spec Models?

I cacn only find poverty-spec 205's at the scrapyard and wasn't sure whether the light stalks can work on higher spec 205's because of the driving lamps.

Can anyone confirm?

They are the same indicator/headlamp stalk as far as I am aware.

 

The wipers stalk is different on base models as the base models don't have intermittent wipers.

I did it the other way round, fitted a high spec stalk to the rallye to get the extra wiper setting, Only things I needed was the stalk and a new relay.

Thats what i have to do but its annoying when im used to driving my van everyday with its super smart wipers....

Yes. Driving lights make no odds as they're triggered off the high beam setting on the stalk.

 

If you're getting one from the scrappy, make sure that the high-beam latch works as this commonly breaks in my experience.

YES!

 

I've also had to replace a few stalks now as Anthony mentions as the hi beam will not latch in. Last time bought a new genuine one via Paragon Pug for about £60 which I didn't think was out of the way. If you plan to keep your 205 some time as I do, then think about new rather than second hand bits, as the s/h stuff may well be not far behind the one that is u/s.
