Not exactly the same, but my old 405 Mi16 1.9 with the stupid electric hydraulic ABS pump and no master cylinder as such, used to chew its way through a set of fronts in ridiculously short time periods, something like 4000 miles.

I'll cut a long storey short, After changing some pads and calliper's which of course meant bleading the brakes, took the car up the road and the pedal kept going to the floor, Re-bleed system etc and after another 3 trips up and down the road the pedal came back, Odd but I was happy, Got back to work (Was dark) so got the light out and checked the disc's as these where slightly rusty only to notice one of the pads gone and onto the metal backing which would explain the pedal.

Taking them off later today and stick them up the backside of the Motorfactor I think

Not bad for a total of around 2 Miles

What brand are they? There have been some counterfeit pads sold but I've only heard of them in Northern Ireland and for VW group cars. They were branded similarly to Textar (Texta, Taxte etc).

There was plenty of counterfit Mintex (not sure of number - something like 1144?) doing the rounds in Lancashire last year.

Wasn't mintex by any chance?

Cannot recall the name now but I have used them before (Supplied by customer) but at about £14.00 for a front set you cannot expect too much but hey...

That's simply outrageous! Trading standards need to be called, sounds like those pads could kill people.

I've had some shocking performance standard pads.. that have rubbish heat range, but... 2 miles?!?
