Can I Bolt Xs Brakes/discs Straight Onto 1.6 Gti Hubs?

Recommended Posts

I cant remeber whether this is possible or whether I need to use 1.6gti brakes? looking to keep the xs brakes for clearance under 13'' steelies, I seem to remember using gti brakes on xs hubs requires 1.9discs and 1.6 callipers or something like that but cant remember what it is the other way around.

I have a feeling xs and 1.6 callipers are the same, just the pad carriers wider?

basically ive confused myself lol

any help appreciated :)

yoi'll need 1.6 discs and calipers, the pad carrier is wider and the disc 10mm wider AND 10mm more offset.

so is the caliper mount offset on the gti hubs then compared to the xs?

just thinking if the pad carriers is wider AND the disc is offset then using xs discs and calipers should be alright?

just want to avoid using spacers but stick with 13s

the hub carrier and bearing are identical, its the drive flange that gives the extra offset.

you can't use the non vented discs on 1.6 hubs, you can on a 1.9.
