You can pick up the later Quattroporte's quite cheap. Ferrari V8, Interior from 47 cows, insanely comfortable and classy. I'd have one over a £4k bland saloon anytime, yeah so the styling's a little 'different', but they're such a cool Q-car!

I suspect the real "cost" isn't the purchase price though, but rather the running/maintenance costs - I imagine an M5 for example is peanuts to run by comparison.

It depends what you want the car for surely?

I don't need a Volvo estate that i bimble about in and tow with to have a manual box. I'd still prefer it tbh, but i've used plenty of big wafty Auto's and i don't think they'd be the same as a manual.

Anthony's got it in one and why that particular car was relatively cheap i reckon, it was well overdue a service for a reason!

As it has already been said the servicing and maintenance of a car that cost 15 times more when new will be VERY expensive.

At a guess, the 6k mile service of that Quattroporte will cost at least 1k if not more.

There used to be Ghibli on my way to school and it is a very beautiful car.

330 bhp from a 2.0lt engine back in the early 90's was more than enough (and still is!)

The reg came back as a 2.8 auto Which after skim research shows it's a 2800 twin turbo v6 producing 286hp and over 300 torques..

Never would of thaught it was m3 fast.

Why would you want to be changing gear all the time?

Its like saying I'll never buy a kettle I'll just turn the stove off when my pan of water has boiled.

Changing gears is such a useless task in a normal car, if you want to go faster then just put your foot down, simples. My auto has a sequential function so I can change the gears myself if I like. I use it about once every 3 months.

I don't get this countries problem with them, after all we don't even like opening shop doors these days so why wouldn't you want a computer to change your gear for you?
