Cambelt Change

Recommended Posts

Obey_R

Will be doing this next weekend for the gf. Simple 8v, how hard can it be? Think its the longer belt (104?) but will check when I get it off.

I've read that the crank is locked at the flywheel, how does that work? I only done the belt on my 205 with the hole in the pulley...

very easy, indeed the crank is locked by a pin through the block into the flywheel, not much to say other than make sure its in the right place before taking it all apart.

Is it fairly obvious when you look at it then? I've not got the car here to see. As long as the cam is locked then the flywheel one should drop straight in, in theory?

Yeah got plenty at work (Motorworld, great for parts as part of Tetrosyl/Maccess). Same as the TU engined 205s are they?
