Throttle Body Coolant Hoses - Quick Question

Recommended Posts

I took the throttle body off at the weekend and I think I may have put the two coolant hoses on the bottom the wrong way around. I've got the longer hose coming from the expansion bottle on the left hand side (nearest the inlet manifold) and the short one going to the thermostat housing on the right hand side (nearest the winscreen wash reservoir). Hope that makes sense!

Have I got that right? Engine seemed to heat up really quickly today even after short run so I'm worried I've done something to upset it. thanks :)

Doesn't matter which way around they are.

To be honest, I normally don't bother with the throttle body heater circuit at all as it's just not needed for the mild UK climate - just plumb the expansion tank straight into the thermostat bleed off point and job's a good 'un with less pipes and less potential leaks.

As for heating up, try re-bleeding the system as you might have an airlock somewhere still, although 8v's normally self bleed to a point.

Thanks Anthony

I'm happy now and I'll look to bleed the system
