Finding A New Cv Joint

Recommended Posts

Raccoon

Hey guy, recently I've found out that my passenger side CV joint on my CTI is pretty much knackered. I'm not keen on replacing it with a used part but I'm having trouble finding a new one.

If you could point me in the right direction that would be brilliant. Also is the CV joint on a CTI any different to the ones found on a GTI or any other 205 for that matter?

CTi driveshaft should be the same as a 1.6 GTi and all diesel models.

I don't think that the CV's are easily replaceable on them though, unlike say 1.9 GTi models.

As Ant said, the CV's are not replaceable on base model and 1.6 driveshafts, they're a closed tripod design not a 6 ball cv.

Ah right, so I would need to replace the whole driveshaft?

Thanks for your help. It's much appreciated.

Oh, also where is the best place to find a new one?
