Normal 10W40 semi-synthetic will be absolutely fine for typical road and occasional track use.

You can go for a semi, but if you want the best, go for a full synthetic like the Fuchs Pro S, Millers CFS, Motul 300V, Redline or Gulf Competition and a 5w-40 will give better cold start protection than a 10w-40 so a good choice for the winter.

Less than an hour and there is the expected reply from oilman. Don't tell me you manually search all car forums for oil related posts? You have some sort of script running right?

Pro S 10/50 is what i use for my GTI 6 engine's, it gets thicker when warm, so i let the engine oil get warm before going over 3k revs. As said its good for cold starts.

Lol I was thinking the same. You have got to give him full marks for being on the ball. . . Annoyingly on the ball . . . .

I went with Graham and Miles recommendation of Fuchs Titan XTR 10w40 semi syntheticas it was slot cheaper than the pro s mentioned by oil man.

I did buy it off oil mans suite though and their service was good

Pass this query to the relevant member of staff please.

This forum doesn't support notifications for specific search terms, particularly a three letter term like 'oil', so as far as I know the only notification you could get from here is a list of all new topics in a subforum so once again I'd like to know if are you manually searching through such a list of topics or do you have some sort of automated system or script finding relevant topics for you?

We get a notifications of all the new topics in the subforum, we delete the notifications that aren't applicable. There's no program or script running.
