Throttle Bodies

They look rather more expensive than Jenveys from what I can remember, though may not end up that bad as it includes the fuel rail and linkage.

looking at Jenveys;

http://www.jenvey.co.uk/home/throttle-body-kits/jenvey-dynamics/peugeot-mi16-tbp45-throttle-body-kit-ckpg03

£726+ vat, you'd need a throttle linkage on top of that price afaik, which is another £88+vat.

add £200 to the AT kit for a standard inlet manifold.

or you could get these: http://www.jenvey.co.uk/home/twin-throttle-bodies/twin-bodies-dcoe-style-30mm-long/jenvey-dynamics/ts-body-40-50mm-pair-tspxxi

£429

and add a decent length inlet and a set of trumpets and a linkage kit.

or buy a £100 set of GSXR bodies and get a manifold made :)

Roller barrel bodies are wicked, more efficient than Jenveys but not sure on the cost, maybe if you could get a package. Think I got Jenveys and my omex package for £1600ish quid brand new :)

Titan are the people for roller barrel and they do them to fit to DCOE inlet manifolds. http://www.titanraceproducts.com/weberrollerbarrels.asp

Thanks for the replies.

I have an Omex already, so it is just the bodies I need. I really like the sound of the roller barrel bodies, but can't seem to find much before and after results on the net...

I don't really want bike bodies, I prefer something was made for the purpose, if you know what I mean.

bike bodies are made for the purpose? arguably the quality is higher than anything else you will find, the rest is down to who fits them

From days of old the Roller ones didn't make any huge difference, I'm sure unless I'm going mad Jenvey made some

I will always say bike bodies are cr*p, Linkages are a huge let down and by the time you've sorted that you may as well of got some good ones

still not see any of Colins ones then Miles ;) no linkage required, just a properly designed quadrant on the end.

I'm fairly sure these are the ones I've seen on one of AB's customer cars - they are pretty lush. They're not roller throttles, just normal conventional butterflies although apparently better flowing.

What I liked the look of was simply how small the bodies are, leaving a lot more room for filters over the trumpets. Not sure I'd swap my Jenveys for them, though, but if I was starting from scratch I'd consider them if the price was good.

yes I have, no matter what I would never entertain the idea personally

We've back to backed roller bodies on several engines and found no difference, the progression is slightly different, but not that noticeable. What is noticeable is that they are very heavy and have alot of operating intertia.

ATP bodies look nice, but no other reason I can see to by them. The fuel rails and linkages are relatively fragile and their direct to head TU ones are generally 10-15lbft down on our GSXR kits and well selected Jenveys.

Exactly what I was going to say.. roller barrel bodies are heavy and take up a fair amount of space, not exactly ideal for our cramped 205 engine bays!

AT bodies are very nice bits of kit, I have a mate who works there so could perhaps organise a group buy if there was enough interest. Interestingly AT took over from Pace when they went under so they also make dry sump kits. :)

I did my homework a little while ago and priced up exactly what you'd need from both AT and Jenvey, and found that there was very little between them! The thing I like about the AT bodies is they're very short so you have the maximum amount of freedom when it comes to tuning the inlet length. My mate developed a set for a Mk2 Golf 16V that had curved trumpets to clear the bonnet, which would probably be very handy for a 205.

I would be interested in a group buy always depending on the final price, i could finally have a xu5 on bodies :)

I'd be in dependent on price.

+1 on that!!

And on how quickly I'd need to find the money... Christmas is on the doorstep and my 205 is already off the road till I sort a few bits out

I've got a mate who's into the Clio Williams scene, he's got a "replica" (fake as I like to say) which is completely williams except for it coming out of the factory as a valver who wants these for his:: http://atpowershop.co.uk/catalog/renault-clio-williams-throttle-bodies-direct-head-p-130.html

His main reason for wanting them over the Jenvey's is the look of them, and that by all accounts you can ask for the trumpets to be anodized to colour at request?? Don't know how much truth is behind that though... Does sound like a nice thing though lol

I certainly wouldn't buy bodies just because of coloured trumpets!!!

Any alloy trumpet can be anodised if you wish, it is not that expensive to get done.

My bad, didn't explain the whole thing...

That's not the only reason behind him wanting them, he's looked into them and done his research behind what he wants and chose the linked one's before over things like the jenvey's due to preference over the look quote "I like the shiney"

bringing on the comment that many fathers and mothers will hate::

Shiny_show_puppets.jpg

"Give yourself a shinnneeeyy!!"

lol :D

Had a chat with my mate, he says AT are up for doing a group buy on bodies, potentially dry sumps as well if there's interest.

Price is being negotiated, I'm hoping for a discount of at least 10%.
