Seam Welding A 205 Subframe?

Recommended Posts

Is this something worth doing while my subframe is off the car? :)

Thanks in advance.

Absolutely, stitch welding it is more than enough, you dont want to too stiff by seal welding the whole of it.

More to the point you don't want to warp the whole thing to buggery.

Thats right, try welding it bit by bit and let it cool down a bit before welding another section, so there wont be too much heat put into it.

A bit OTT IMO for anything other than an off-road/rallycross car etc.

But yes, stitch weld it if anything, inch on, 2 off...

A good job yes, however i would have not welded as many stitches, say 4 instead of the 7 thats on the long part of it.
