Seriously are they taking the pi$$?

As much as I like classic cars, who would pay £5k for a car in such condition?!

What have they really been thinking?!

Or does it come together with the land maybe?

Yes it seems a lot but is that a rare model? I have also seen ads for very old Jags in similar conditon at those sort of prices. If your lucky and buy it you might find a few free mice and spiders.

Dreamer!

Don't get me wrong, its in lovely condition although I don't see really low mileages in old cars as necessarily a good thing. You can just tell whoever is selling it will refuse to haggle though and theres lots of haggling to be had before it sells!

Having owned a lot of Alfa,s , I know this one is a bit of a rare and desirable model ,and as most of the older ones have simply rusted away there arn,t many around.

But its incomplete so parts will be very difficult to source and because of this I,d only value it at around £3000-£3500 maximum ,,,,So yes he,s a dreamer!!!

Reminds me of my friend's Series 1, E-Type roadster. It had sat in a New York garden since the eighties.

This was 1989/1990 just as the boom was still going and he paid £5k.

Matching engine and gearbox numbers.

Rarer than a 'Flat floor' model this was a 'No-floor' version.

I'll have to dig out a photo of this thing, as it split into two bits held only by the prop shaft!

Now fully rebuilt and absolutely minted.

Once restored it will be worth £20,000 +

If you have the time it would be a sound investment.

My dad bought a basket case 1958 2CV (quite rare) for 1000€ about 5 years ago. It will be worth closer to 8000€ when finished
