Nissens Radiator

Recommended Posts

Just received a new radiator bought on ebay from someone who hadn't got round to fitting it on their car. All OK, but whilst there is a boss cast in the plastic moulding, & recess, where the drain plug goes, it appears to be blanked off, & I can't see any thread. So, am I missing something, or is it just a case of disconnecting the bottom hose to drain, in future?

Can't say that will be too unwelcome, as the drain plug removed means water spraying over the suspension.

didnt have one on mine, must have been about 6 years ago I fitted it, seen this on quite a few nissens rads not limited to the 205.

Some radiators have drain plugs, some don't - for ones that don't, just disconnect the lower radiator hose to drain.

Yes, as I thought. No worries, just hope the hose seals OK, but then of course I've got that problem when I fit the radiator anyway!
