box made to put the switchbox plate in... so I suppose I have made a switchbox?... anyway... just need to get some bolts tomorrow and make a battery mount too... all these little ally brackets and bits take forever. Got the fuel tank in and attached to all the breathers and then filler. Hopefully all the electrical system will be in place tomorrow :D

Yer does take a while! Well found that all the pins I had for the connectors were wrong, so had to take them out and redo all of them. But, got that done, switched two wrong wires around, and flicked some switches :)

ok, finally got the wipers working, intermittent as well :D absolute witchcraft, the regenerative breaking is what is not well covered on the internet, and if you do not have a column switch handy it is pretty hard to get it running! But its done now, going to get the last couple of earths down this weekend and fix the control box in place properly :D And its hospitality at brixton so today and saturday are a write off.

all the fuel lines are done. Need some rivnuts to get the plate on the tank hole tho. Will sort that out soon.

Sourced a gearbox, picking it up in a few weeks. And thought I would treat the car to a fancy gearstick too whilst at it. XTrac magnesium loveliness a la 1990-1992 BTCC , cleaning it up on my desk as we speak.

nice, that's an OLD casing, no crank sensor hole!

guess its not the 6 speed unit is it? thought they were the only ones that had the ally end casing? does it need ZF shafts?

Nah, 5 speed, doesnt need ZF shafts. There were a handful of alloy end casings made for the original works gpA cars.

Nice knob B)

I like the way this is staying lightweight, no excessive rollcage!

Any more cage than that is completely unnecessary in mod prod! ;)

cheers calvin, I love my knob. And aye no point having a weld in or anything extra from the regs really in mod prod fwd :)

Oh yer - also bought a colchester student 1800 so I can start turning the parts for the gear linkage and some bits to drop the column even more. man purchase. Lovely roundhead 3 phase, gonna give it a good ol' repaint dressed in a technician coat, clear glasses and a pipe.

I was referring to the rather strange position of the gear lever support bracket vs handbrake

lol yer it still works fine. Handbrake is only there for MOT purposes, not for function.

Nah, 5 speed, doesnt need ZF shafts.

Do check that, won't you - I thought all ZF diffs require the shorter stub pin on the left hand side?
