Would like to say Hi to everyone on here first of all as it's been a long time since I've posted on here (not that any of you really know me, but that's my fault...) acquisitionbut there is time for that to change so here is my lastest acquesision to my Peugeot family of cars....

It's a 1987 1.9..... original spec....

Service history, MOT's and books....

DSC00870.jpg

It's a tidy motor but not perfect....

DSC00851.jpg

Just surface rust....

and they could do with a refurb and some other bits, but it recently passed it's MOT with flying colours.

The story with the car is that it usd to belong to my best friends uncle and he bought it brand new from K&G motors in cannock only to selll it to me about 24 years later due to his health.

The cars has sat in his garage for the past 6 years where it has been left to wither away, but I plan on rectrifiying this as soon as I have the time.

You might have noticed the odometer read out and I can assure you that it is genuine, he also owned an escort for sometime which he found easier to drive in everyday...

Funny thing is that he thought he would have had to pay the scrap man to come and take this away (he seriously didn't know that these are well sort after now...)

Plans for the future... well just fix it up a bit, there is some things to do on it, none of them really major, just that I will feel better address them before it comes on the road, I will have many questions for you guys and hopefully you'll be able to help me out, so thanks in advance.

Thanks for reading,

Regards

Brett

Thanks for all your kind comments chaps, yes I will be looking after this, I may want to mod it a little but nothing particuly extravigant,

Is there another low miler on here?

If that milage is correct thats a great find mate.

I live 15 minutes away from Walsall, and i have an identical 205. 1987 phase 1 in red (1.9). I never see any 205's round by me, then you turn up with the same car down the road  I'll give you a flash if i see you.

If you tidy it up, and it has the paperwork to back up the milage, It'll be worth a few quid. Not many have such low milage now.

It's not on the road at present, my daily driver is a 205 1.8 td mardi gras, in sorrento green (atl least i think it is.....well it's green lets just say that.....)

So things to do:

Mechanical:

Replace vacuum advance on the dizzy,

Drivers door need sorting as it's a bit loose.

Boot gas struts need replacing as it shuts by itself

5 new tyres,

that's about it I think....

Body:

Wheel refurb

Rust,

Ding in the boot,

fogs lights are a little rusty I will refurb or buy new ones.

also the airbox in the engine bay is rusty wouldn't mind a new one of those,

and just a clean up...

future, might get the head skimmed to raise to compression, and an SS exhaust of some kind.

does the 1.8 16v head fit the 1.9 block?

an SS exhaust of some kind.

does the 1.8 16v head fit the 1.9 block?

:o Don't do it! Keep it 100% standard, thats got to be one of the best condition phase 1's in exsistance

Yeah my mate said the same and I'm inclided to agree with him there, leave it standard.... I'll save it for the 205 TD, obviously though a 1.8 petrol head will be useless on a diesel....

But I probably will splash out on an SS exhaust though, might go to a custom place and say I want a copy of the original albeit with a nicer tail pipe.
