What Would You Say Is The Most 'desirable' 205?

Recommended Posts

As much as i like Miami, i think for me it'd be Laser..

So, exactly what makes an LE? Over the years there have been miami's and lasers with all sorts of trim combo's, has anyone got a definitive answer?

The limited edition models were Sorrento Green and Miami blue. They were 1989 cars, when the colours first made their appearance. Either on a G reg, or H reg. Anything after H reg in miami or sorrento isn't a limited edition model.

There was 300 green 1.6, 300 green 1.9, 300 blue 1.6, 300 blue 1.9.

They had PAS, grey carpets, grey leather seats, and early style lights. (orange indicators, older light clusters).

Sorrento and Miami then became a colour option, after they finished making the Limited Editions.

Also the sorrento and miami on the limited editions are a different colour to the newer ones. The miami blue and sorrento are a bit "lighter" on them.

The LE's were late Ph 1.5 cars. Orange indicators, early rear lights. Grey dash and bodykit. Full grey leather seats. Dark grey carpet instead of red.

Limited number made in Miami and Sorrento.

However almost anyone on EBay with a ph2 Miami or Sorrento for sale will claim it is a limited edition, it is not.

What about lazers with green carpet and trim? Where do they fit into the spectrum?

My old sorrento 1.9, full leather, non sunny, pas,

Grey carpet, had orange indicators which got changed, then some tosser nicked her while I was waiting for a new pas pump, she wasn't insured as she was on my drive loved that car :(

ultra low mileage, red phase 2, sunroof, non power steering would be my choice. Most of the press, what car and the like, at the time used red.

Most desirable is what we are talking about, what most people would want and green cars are not the most popular colour of any car imo, that colour should stay on the trees and grass

Ive been thinking recently as to which colour/trim combination, limited edition etc would be the most desirable in years to come...

Griffe aside, I would say the 1FM is up there, then maybe full leather Sorrento's?

Your thoughts? ;-)

I think any of the 205 Gti range are very desirable, however I own a Ph 1.5 alpine white 1.9 with 157 on the clock, she's got a tiny bit of rust and her drivers seat bolster is worn and the fan makes a racket....But she's like sh.....t off a shovel.... I love her and more importantly so does my 2 year boy.

I'd have a non rusty, tidy non sunroof Topaz.

They're just a later option like Miami & Sorrento.

What does LE mean?

Limited Edition.

Lazer's like Steel Grey, A colour that didn't sell well at all in the day so was stopped, Yes it makes them rare but nothing special

I think they will all become desirable, but I think it'll be hard to see past a good condition and completely standard 1.9

Hey! leave steelies out this Miles  seeing as I've got one. Grey wasn't a popular colour back then but is now. Matches the car well imo..a lot nicer than graphite.

the yellow 1.9 GTI is probably the rarest uk spec car, up there with the RHD Griffe

Desirable would be a standard early 1.9 with pas, ew and sunroof

ORB, the one you broke must have been something else, that one-off yellow GTI still exists, I was offered it not long ago. As far as I know it has a similiar spec to the 1FM: a/c, abs, sunroof, pas, cat, grey carpet, black leather etc.

Cool. Do you have any general details on it ?

Could be the rarest 205 of them all, with there only being 1. Whether or not its "desirable" is open to debate, I find the yellow one quite appealing myself.

a Dimma CTI TT would do it for me, or better still a Gutmann Turbo Look 2 CTI with the Turbo 8s conversion, but now we are opening it up further than the real factory models
