Just thought i would ask the question

I am in no doubt a purist as far as 205's are concerned i just love them all as standard and as the manufacturers intended them to be, whats your opinion?

meddle slightly in my case.

i like to put my own stamp on any car, but have grown away in the past few years from chavving cars right up.

Keep it looking as standard as possbile but make it go as much as possible and hug the corners well along the way :D

Yes! Purist on the outside, meddler underneath. Althought I do like that ITS kit some one linked. Dimma's can look great too!

One of each is the way forward, mine is a stripped, caged 16v with no original parts left on the shell at all but I just got a one owner 85k 1.9 GTI that is standard down to the stereo and is staying that way.

Agreed! :D

1 mental track car and one pristine road car is the way to go.

Well, given its french, better make that - one clapped out standard-looking road car that, now and again, when the planets are in alignment, stops playing silly buggers and goes like the clappers.

Im a purist.

I remember when i first joined this forum. I had idea's of a 205 slammed, with a gutttman grille, and a smoothed rear tailgate, everything de locked etc.

After a month i realised the 205 can't look any better than standard.

When I first got mine I put a massive 3.5" tail pipe on the back with a stainless system. Black tail lights, clear stick on side repeaters from ripspeed, k and n, angel eyes from ecosse....

Rather embarrassed by most of that now.

If I had a new shell, I'd keep the exterior standard and just change a few bits mechanically.

I'd love to see pics of what you did to your car. Especially curious to see what the Ecosse angel eyes looked like...

As much as I like the basic bodywork, the 205 Maxi looks stunning. Personally mine will have an OEM+ look.

What Colour is that?

I saw a Chevron at Brands during the summer in a similar colour and was trying to find out what is was.

One of each is definitely the way forward. In my case 1x rally car, 1x standard F reg 1.6.

Though I wouldn't mind more standard ones for the collection.

What does 'would of' mean?

Maybe you meant would have, or would've?
