I bought a new one from Pug for my conversion after reading people having problems with old caps. I got a high pressure rating turbo diesel one.

When I was running a 6 in my 205 it was a treat. Sat in traffic the temp would go up, like an 8v, the fan kicks in and it went back down to normal. I never needed twin fans and I cannot remember a single time the fans came in on high speeds. Mine was also used a daily driver all year round.

Must have been lucky I guess . . .

Edit: I had the bbm heater hose and a std gti rad ( well a nissens one )

4L! Is that not a bit much? suppose to 50:50

The total amount of fluid a 6 needs is 7.5 litres, so 4 ltr of anti freeze is what i would put in. You can buy special fluid where no water needs to be added and keeps the system that little bit cooler. Always put anti freeze in else the head can rot like what mine did, the previous owner only put water in. I always like my 6 engine that bit cooler even if they came from a hot country in the first place.
