C5 Steel Wheels

Recommended Posts

jonb_5

Hi

You may have seen this, but I think these are the lightweight wheels you can change to which are a direct replacement. Can someone confirm this? Maybe of interest to some members, not mine just found when looking on ebay.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16-Citroen-C4-coupe-C5-Break-4x108-et26-winter-steel-wheels-Brand-New-Set-4-/160655757264?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&hash=item2567d44fd0#ht_1755wt_908

Thanks

Jon

erm, no

guess you didnt read the title properly, they are 16", also the wrong offset being ET26 as well (though at 6.5" wide the offset isnt actually too far off, they will fit most cars dependent on ytres used)

must admit they do look right, but thats just a catalogue picture not one of the actual item

agreed, ask him to read the serial number and search for gentrix's old post that details the correct ones.

my search term

c5 wheel -arch -nut -nuts -bolt -steering

this is not a correct one, because the bolt seats are flat (like gti) and not tapered

note the difference to this one, where the bolt seats look tapered, instead of flat

There are two versions of the C5 wheels, those with flat seats and those with tapered seats. The flat seat wheels were released first and then recalled due to possible cracking problems. I wouldn't let this concern you however, as a friend of mine races on these without issues, but the possibility is always there.

Agreed, the flat ones are weaker and the tapered ones are the stronger version of C5 alloy's. I nearly bought some flat ones and glad i didn't now after researching them.

Getting the correct type of tapered bolts/nuts are not hard to find if you know where to look.
