Do 1.6 Pepperpot Gti Wheels Fit Over 1.9 Spec Brakes?

Recommended Posts

Yes, I did search (a bit)

Do they? I'm thinking no...

some do some dont, the speedline ones more often than not.

also depends how worn the pads are I believe, some careful removal of material from the carrier will allow all to fit, its quite minimal how much needs to be removed.

due to where they rub, I'd imagine if there's the radial clearance that most 14" wheels have, a set of 266mm brakes would fit under there better.

edit, depends which discs as well, 1.6 or 1.9?

Sorry I was a bit sketchy on the details!

I put a set of 14 inch pepperpots on my 1.9 309, I finally got round to moving it about 50 yards yesterday and noticed a grinding noise. After presuming it was just a rusty disk, I noticed aluminium filings on the inside of a front wheel? Seems strange as they went on and bolted up fine!

I'll take the wheel off and investigate further!

they have 4 lumps on the inner edge where the wheel meets the hub, hence why it probably bolted on fine but rubs when rolling

you'll see on the caliper where they need grinding down :)

I had to grind a bit off the yoke not the pad carrier, the inside of the wheel grinder on the inner edge of the yoke
