Fuel Pump Question

Recommended Posts

stuart1298

Right my cars over fueling, turns out the bloke before me had some how wired the pump to the electric window live, I assume the fuel pump relay packed up and he cut all of that bit of the loom our and wired to that. Semi sorted out, but the fuel pump now comes on, on the third 2nd click, just wanna check this is right, and I it's meant to stay on for a second after the ignition is turned off

is it possible to wire up a fuel pump the wrong way so it over fuels an engine? i thought it was just a case of getting 12v to it (+earth) ? i have mine on a switch which goes to a fuse and then the battery.

as far as i know the fuel pump doesnt make an engine over fuel? as the regulator conrols the pressure in the rail

not to sure to be honest, it smells fuely, and 2 of the plugs have the colour from when they over fuel.

just put a post up to identify what of the 3 sensors is the one for fuel, so gonna get a new one

if its specifically over fuelling (or apprears to be...) on two cylinders them it wont be the fuel pump, though it wont help general running if its playing up.

it may be a spark or wiring issue . possibly that two injectors arent firing at all?
