How Much Does It Weigh Roughly

Recommended Posts

TaffyTim

Does anyone know roughly how much my car weighs?

Its got a mi lump, no carpets, no rear seats and buckets in the front. Just a rough idea to the nearest 50kg would be good.

Removing the carpet and rear seats won't offset the weight of a 16V engine IMO.. you'd be lucky to be much under the standard weight.

I'd put money on it being 890 +/- 10kg. :P

I think Welshpug could be close there, mine with gti6 engine and cage was 910kg with at least half a tank of fuel iirc. I would say between 850 - 900kg for this one.

I'd removed the carpet, rear seats, sunroof and I think I had the door cards off at the time.

850 to 900, ok ta guys. Just to confirm there is no cage.

I wish I'd weighed what came out now, especially all that water soaked sound deadening under the carpets :-P

So going with a bhp figure from the last rr session of 162 I can quote 180 /190 bhp per tonne when chatting rubbish in the pub.

You could always take it to a public weighbridge. Doubt it would cost much?
