Later Considered Better Model

Recommended Posts

Looking at getting a 1.9 and not sure which one to go for

did they ever make a power steering model without the catalytic converter?

i do like the phase 2 models as i had a phase 1 c reg and now as i'm a bit older want a little more refinement

all suggestions welcome

one of my old 1.9s had full leather and PAS, it was a sorrento green, not a mark on it, till some f**k wit nicked it, it didnt have a cat and was a H reg, hope that helps, retro fitting power steering aint to hard to do anyway

Power steering was an option on all years (possibly not the VERY early ones). It's slightly more common on the later models, but not hard to find on earlier ones either.

Both phases have pretty much the same 'refinement' bar a few small perks like remote C/locking.

thanks a lot, i quite like the the sorrento green and Miami blue colours so a later model is what i will be looking for,not fussed about mileage as i will probably take the lump out and overhaul it so i know it will extra reliable

It's easy to retro fit anyway so look for car condition over spec, PAS was std on the ltd ed models of 89/90 then optional thereafter

Mines a J reg. Remote locking, abs, air con, electric windows power steering and no CAT.

As said above, go for condition over spec.

I don't think you'll find much more refinement in a ph2 over a ph1 to be honest. The black dash looks better IMO tho.
