Recommended Posts

shes over fueling on injectors 2&3 i've been looking at new injectors, and have come up with a problem, my car is running a citroen xm 93 2.0 8v turbo engine, but has a loom from a 406, looking in to it, all the 2.0 turbo 406s i cab find are all 16v. could this be why the cars not running right......

there never were any 16v turbo 406's, they were either 16v, OR turbo.

best approach is to get yours cleaned, its rare that an injector fails totally.

how have you ascertained that its over fuelling on just those two cylinders?

one of my mechanics had a look, said its over fueling on 2 & 3 he done a compression test, and looking at the plugs said it was over fueling, looking up a lambda sensor for xm it has 2 2pin plugs, one for the 406 has 1 4pin plug, could this be a reason?

really starting to get the hump with this car now, i've put so much time, effort, blood, sweat and tears(usually the wifes cos i wanna get the car sorted) and just keep hitting problems.

just want it running properly

Going to invest in some denso iridium plugs, see if that helps aswell

The Lambda sensor works exactly the same way, just a different plug/s

expensive spark plugs will not make one bit of difference unless its a highly tuned race engine, standard NGK's will do the job just fine, often just a different grade of standard plugs suffice.

Thats what i thought with the plugs, but there only £25 though work, so didnt no if it was worth a shot, gonna swap the injector leads over tonight and see if that makes and difference, least i will no if its the injectors or the ecu playing up

do you think its worth putting better quality plugs in, or leave as they are?

Std plugs are fine, I only tend you use colder ones on anything over 220bhp, But swapping a plug for plug I doubt you would notice any difference unless really old

Are the 4 wire ones not pre heated and therefore different to the 2 pin ones?

I believe sonofsam ran his 406 turbo engine with an XM loom without any problems.

Am I right in thinking there is no order in the firing of injectors that they all fire at the same time?

Did you try swapping the injectors over like I suggested in the other thread?
