Pug Partner Heater Matrix

As above, has anyone changed one of these?

Its on my V reg Partner van with the dw8 engine. I've heard that you need to take the dash out to change it, Autodata allows 4.5 hours to do it, but the Haynes manual doesn't mention taking the dash out. I use the van every day, so would be good to know how long it will be out of action!

Going to bypass it for now, but obviously with winter approaching I need to sort it asap.

No idea but as it's based on a ZX platform I would say dash out job

yup, much the same heater box arrangement as zx/306 so definitely a dash out job.

in itself not that tricky, just time consuming though never done one myself, ZX was far quicker to do than a 306 due to the simpler centre console design, if it is 4.5 by autodata then its easier than a 306

Oh crap! Thanks for the replies everyone. Tom, it's my work van and I'm not planning on getting rid anytime soon so want to change the matrix for piece of mind, thanks for suggestion though :)

Take your time and you will be suprised how simple it is.

You will save more time in the long run by spending a short while looking for EVERY bolt visible on the bulk head. Whip your front seats out so you can lay in and under the dash to remove everything holding it in. Then, it's just a case of sorting the wiring that will be restricting movement away from the bulkhead. If you spend some time checking you have removed everything, you will go through much less stress hanging off of it trying to see what you haven't removed

If it's like a 306, there may be a panel in the scuttle area that houses the loom joint that you can undo and allows movement of the loom to pull the dash back away.

It's not complicated, just time consuming.
